1/ The General Election hustings took place in April and after much discussion Martin Costello was selected for Swindon South and Steve Halden was selected for Swindon North.
2/ Most of the leafleting had been finished for the parish council elections but more help was needed to finish the leafleting in Penhill.
3/ Aubrey Attwater was elected to the Swindon Committee.
4/ Swindon UKIP want to reform the House of Lords.
5/ Swindon UKIP want to end the BBC TV licence.
6/ Train more doctors and nurses.
7/ Label Helal meat
8/ Fight against the FGM of young girls in Britain.
9/ Reduce inheritance tax on houses especially for houses in London.
10/ Build more council houses.

1/ UKIP Swindon are against selling properties on leasehold because it leads to future problems for the purchasers.
2/ UKIP Swindon want to build more council houses.
3/ Selling off the council house stock has created the housing shortage.
4/ The committee want to see a UKIP policy on the issue of Islamification.

2/ TRIPS TO STOKE FROM SWINDON Martin Costello made two trips to Stoke. 5 people on the first trip. 2 on the second trip on polling day. Martin spoke to Paul Nuttall and Gerald Batten John Lenton spoke to Patrick O'Flynn who said he would visit Swindon
3/ COUNCIL TAX The rise in Swindon is to be 7.2% School leaving age has been raised to 18 Rising costs of Social Welfare Foreign Aid is too high and should be cut.
4/ HOUSE OF LORDS REFORM It was agreed that it needed reform
5/ INDEPENDENCE DAY 23rd June 2017 It was agreed that we should celebrate our Independence Day and various options are being considered.
6/ TREASURER SWINDON UKIP Aubrey Attwood was chosen to be the new treasurer.
7/ These issues were discussed in relation to the Parish Council Elections. Bin collections Grass cutting Road sweeping Parking Pot holes Dog pooh Spitting Litter campaign Plastic recycling Cycling on the pavement Cleaning drains and gullies Business rates Protecting the green spaces in Swindon
John Lenton was interested in getting the road sweepers out more often, litter, support business relocating to Swindon, clean drains on regular bases. and deal with anti social behaviour,
8/ BREXIT It was suggested that we email peers and ask them not to block BREXIT

2/ Parish Council Elections (Six new Parishes with 26 wards) Blunsdon, Nythe/Eldene/Liden, St Andrews, West Swindon, Central Swindon North, Central Swindon South. These Parishes will be divided into 26 wards for election purposes. UKIP will be putting up candidates in some of these wards
3/ A motion was passed that Swindon UKIP should send a donation to support Paul Nuttall in his campaign in Stoke.
4/ Martin Costello is organising transport to go to Stoke to support Paul Nuttall
5/ Martin Costello was voted onto the Committee as Committee Member for FaceBook.
6/ Martin Costello wants members to join FaceBook and support the Swindon UKIP FaceBook page.
7/ INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION 23rd June 2017 Some ideas were discussed about having a party but no final decision was made.

1/ There was good news from Nissan in Sunderland. Jaguar Land Rover is expanding production in Sunderland.
2/ There was a worry that British Manufacturing Industry was in decline and Terry Hayward told us about what happened at PRAXAIR where the workforce has dropped from 350 to 30 in Swindon.
3/ There was concern that privatisation of all the public utilities means that all the money goes out of the country when the utilities make profits.
4/ There was concern in Italy that the referendum might lead to the downfall of the Prime Minister and cause problems for some Italian banks.
5/ UKIP is against HS2 and believe it to be an EU sponsored project.
6/ Multi-National companies must pay their taxes and come under government control.
7/ UKIP is sceptical about man made global warming.
8/ Wind turbines are not financial viable because the wind does not blow all the time.
9/ There was so much violence and trouble around the world that it feels as if civilisation is collapsing.
10/ There was concern that German Chancellor Angela Merkel is trying to destroy Germany.
11/ Health Tourism is costing the NHS £500 million a year. All visitors should have health insurance before they come here.
12/ UKIP support proportional representation because it took UKIP 4 million votes to get one MP elected for UKIP.
