As a country we will only prosper if children, young families and the young generation are helped to make a good start in life.





Steve Halden was the UKIP candidate for North Swindon and fought previous General Elections for UKIP in both 2005 and 2010.

He is a retired civil servant and has lived in Swindon for over fifty years. 


He first became involved in politics while studying economics at Swindon College and has maintained a keen interest in the subject ever since. 

Conservative candidate Justin Tomlinson
29,431      53.6%  share of the total vote   +3.3%

Labour candidate Mark Dempsey
21,096     38.4%  share of the total vote +10.6%

Liberal Democrat candidate Liz Webster
1,962         3.6%  share of the total vote   +0.3%

UKIP candidate Steve Halden
1,564        2.8%  share of the total vote   -12.5%

Green Party candidate Andy Bentley
858          1.6%  share of the total vote     -1.7%
